Welcome to OzU Molecular Physics Research Group Website!

Founded in 2024, our research group at Özyeğin University is dedicated to advancing knowledge at the crossroads of molecular physics, chemistry, and biology. We investigate the intricate behavior of fluorescent molecules and fluorescently labeled polymer composites, with a particular focus on understanding the fundamental photophysical processes that govern their function. Our research combines both theoretical and experimental approaches, drawing from areas such as time-resolved fluorescence monitoring, UV-Vis spectroscopy, quantum chemistry, and data-driven simulation techniques. We also integrate machine learning and computational simulations into our toolkit to better interpret experimental results and explore complex parameter spaces.

Our team is actively engaged in the photophysical characterization of organic chromophores, conformational analysis of polymers, and the development of new methods to study molecular systems under dynamic and out-of-equilibrium conditions. We place a strong emphasis on bridging molecular-scale understanding with real-world applications in materials science, sensing, and bioimaging. Beyond research, we are deeply committed to education and mentorship. Our group provides training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, offering hands-on experience in experimental design, computational modeling, and advanced data analysis. We aim to nurture a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity at every stage of scientific development.
